The Truce

November 10, 2025 → January 10, 2027: the clock the whole file now runs on.

Definition

The Busan truce is a standstill agreement, not a settlement: both sides hold current tariff and control levels while working groups negotiate. It was extended on September 26, 2026 — alongside $60 billion of reciprocal tariff cuts on covered goods and a new AI dialogue — from November 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027. As of this site's October 2026 snapshot, the truce holds, with the next extension or rupture due in January.
